Well that’s another Olympics done and dusted.

I must say I really enjoyed these Olympics and not just because New Zealand brought home more medals than they ever have.

For me this Olympics had it all.

Yes it had your typical gold medal wins and amazing athletes on show- but it also had some great human interest stories.

On top of that it also had some genuine news stories - everything from fabricated robberies to media buses being shot at.

For a news junkie like me, that made it exciting to follow.

It was also nice to see the South Waikato well represented at the games.

I mean we now have a gold medallist thanks to Amy Turner, even if the Aussies also lay claim to it.

I’d also like to give a big shout out to Joe Webber (Sevens), Regan Ware (Sevens), Sam Gaze (Mountain Biking) and Tracy Keith-matchitt (Swimming - Cook Islands) who also did us proud.
