FROM THE EDITOR
It is 3.43pm on Tuesday and I have travelled a measly 743 steps. So, only 9257 to go to hit Steptember’s target for the day!
A few colleagues and I including South Waikato News reporter Luke Kirkeby and Tamara Thorn and Steph Rangi from the Taupo Times - have decided to take on the Steptember challenge.
The goal is to take at least 10,000 steps a day and the aim is twofold: to raise money for the Cerebral Palsy Society and to get fit.
For those who move around a lot as part of their job, this is not too hard to achieve. If you are glued to your desk - it basically involves tacking a 5km walk onto the day.
This has been a bit of an eye opener and I reckon anyone who has a desk job should give it a go.
Steph was boasting a massive 4500 steps by the time she set foot in the door yesterday and Luke managed to clock up 24,000 steps in one day!
