Police are looking for a dark coloured, four wheel drive vehicle in relation to the murder of 48-year-old Scott John Henry in Kinloch near Taupo.

Henry was killed at his home in Whangamata Road on Thursday, 20 July, 2017. He died as a result of a gunshot wound.

Police are appealing to the public for sightings of the vehicle in the Kinloch and Western Bays area of Taupo in the days surrounding Henry’s death, Bay of Plenty CIB, Detective Senior Sergeant John Wilson said.

Contact Taupo police on 07 378 6060 if you have any information regarding to the description of the vehicle.

Last Thursday, police seized another car in Rotorua that will be forensically examined.

In a statement, police said the car was central to the investigation into the death of Henry.

Police also searched an area of the Pureora Forest near the centre of the North Island track in relation to the homicide investigation.

Neighbours said the property where the man was shot had been the subject of police searches before.

One neighbour said the Armed Offenders Squad had to use his property to carry out a previous search of the property.

Information can also be provided anonymously via Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
