Stratford Golf Club

Greg Anderson has won the Spedding Cup and Mike Walsh the Ennis Cup. The weekly haggle was won by Greg with Shane Ngataierua and Warren Dymond taking the minor places. Next week the club is holding the Blue Tee Stableford and round seven of the Fedex Cup. Please return trophies asap.

■ Stratford Women’s Golf On June 12, the women played Captain’s Trophy. Winners were Diane Morresey and Tania Linn. Pauline Downs and Veronica Hignett had a draw.

■ Strathmore Golf Thanks to the Wilmshurst Family for the Shoot-out Memorial to BJW and the fine day to go with it. A very good turn-out for this event. Qualifers were Mike Johnston, Sam Lourie, Gary Tippitt, Brian Needham, Gayleen Coplestone, Richard Pratt, Lance Fenton, Caroll Coulton, Tony Gibb, Mark Coplestone and Laureen Baldock. The victor was Gary Tippitt over Lance Fenton. There was a great display of golfing shots. The Clubhouse was full for the pot-luck meal and prize giving. Next Sunday is a free day to catch up on all remaining Championship games before finals day on July 1. ■
