Big winners for Bizlink Awards

Guests took a step back in time at the Ha¯ wera Bizlink Awards on Saturday night, with a 1920s speakeasy soiree theme to the evening.

Guests dressed in their best 1920s gear for the evening, which was emceed by Gerard Langford and Mary Bourke.

The Supreme Business award was won by Viva Hair Design.

It also picked up two more awards on the night as well, winning best service business and best service business individual for Amy Robinson.

Viva Hair Design wasn’t the only business to claim three awards on the night — Cooks Honda also took home three trophies.

Shane Rooney, who, with his partner Jackie Brooks, took over the Cooks Honda business six months ago was named Supreme Individual winner as well as receiving the best retail business individual award while Cooks Honda also won best retail business award.

The best hospitalit­y award went to South Taranaki RSA, with Town Takeaway and Dining coming second.

Best hospitalit­y individual was won by Maree Murphy of The Dining Room, and Jean Symes of South Taranaki RSA came second.

The best profession­al business award went to Mondo Travel Ha¯ wera, with The Bruntons / First National Mills and Gibbon the runner up.

In the individual category of best profession­al business, the winner was Dianne Tosland of Mondo Travel Ha¯ wera, while Tammi Terblanche of First National Mills and Gibbon placed as runner up.

Best retail business award runner up was Maple and Wild, a florist and gift store.

Heather Brokenshir­e of T and H Appliances won the runner up place in the best retail individual category won by Shane Rooney while Westpac Bank were runners up to Viva Hair Design in the best service business category.

Viva Hair Design’s Amy Robinson won the best service business individual category, with Trina Kennedy of Westpac receiving runner up.

Adrian Cooper Constructi­on won best trade business with Laser Electrical runners up.

The individual category of best trade business was won by Zac McMahon of Tommo’s Tyres and Adrian Cooper of Adrian Cooper Constructi­on was runner up.

The accessibil­ity award was won by Ha¯ wera Cinema 2, while the social media award was won by Pizza Magic Hawera.
