Daffodil thanks

-

On behalf of the Stratford Daffodil Day Committee, I wish to thank you for your support of the Stratford Daffodil Day.

It is impossible to list every person, business or club who assisted us with our event, there were so many of you and we don’t know the names of you all.

But if you baked goods, helped make the lunch, delivered order forms and lunches, loaned us items, put up the street flags, made beautiful bunches of daffodils, sold raffles or set up the hall for lunch or the disco, made crafts for sale, or helped us run the disco, we thank you from the bottoms of our hearts.

If you were a business who entered the window display competition, donated prizes, ran an event from which we were recipients, sold merchandise to the public, had silk daffodil boxes in your shops, donated food for our lunch, printed posters and winning banners, we thank you. We understand that every day someone is asking for support and we gratefully accept your time and donations.

If you were a member of the public or an organisation, who rang or just turned up at any of our events and said “how can I help” we also thank you. This event is now too big for us to run by ourselves.

To the schools and early childhood centres of Stratford who entered our display competition or held fundraising events for us, we are grateful that you are sharing the message of Daffodil Day with your pupils. They are our future.

Now to the people of Stratford and surrounding districts, thank you so much for your donations in our silk daffodil boxes, for attending the many fundraising events in August, for purchasing lunch, daffodils, or merchandise, we really appreciate your support.

Thanks to every single one of you, we have raised a whopping total of $23,292, a record total for us.

I wish to take this opportunity to thank the 15 wonderful ladies who work tirelessly on the Stratford Daffodil Day Committee, your dreams have come true. You work so hard in your own area, and support others when needed to create a wonderful Stratford community event. Stratford be proud.
