Shoppers dodging queues at the supermarket
There are more shoppers than ever before at Stratford New World, but the queues haven’t got any longer.
Dan Harris, who with his wife Rebecca owns and operates the Stratford New World store, says a lot of their customers aren’t spending any time at all in line at the checkout now.
Dan says this is because plenty of their customers are happily taking advantage of New World’s new online shopping service.
“Since our online shopping app went live for Stratford last week, plenty of customers have already given it a try and the feedback we are getting is that they are enjoying being able to order their groceries online, quickly and easily.”
Once customers have ordered, they can choose to collect their finished order from the store, or have it delivered to their door.
Dan says customers who choose the click and collect option collect their groceries, all ready and packed for them, from the lockers in the store entrance foyer.
“People wanting their groceries delivered to their home can simply select their preferred delivery time when ordering and then sit and wait for their groceries to come to them.”
The Stratford supermarket serves a large area, says Dan, and he and Rebecca are delighted their new service is able to reach customers who live more than just a km or two away.
“The delivery is available for Stratford, Midhirst, Cardiff and Eltham on a daily basis as well as going right out to Toko twice a week, saving our customers time as well as petrol.”
The service is easy to use, says Dan.
“The app is already available for smartphones and tablets, while a desktop computer version will be launched in the near future. If customers do have any questions or concerns regarding using the app, they can always give our friendly customer service desk a call of course.”
Manager Josh Webb, the newly titled “online guru” at Stratford New World, says he is pleased with the positive feedback they have received from customers using the online service already.
“There’s been a lot of work going on behind the scenes getting this service ready to go live and be available to our customers, so it is certainly great to see people are using the service.”
