All Black diplomacy

Jerome Kaino and Charlie Faumuina gave US Vice president Joe Biden an All Black welcome at New Zealand’s US Embassy this week. The pair presented Biden with an All Blacks jersey, complete with his name and the number 15, making him ready for a switch from the White House to the rugby field. There’s already a few handy 15s in New Zealand – Ben Smith and Israel Dagg come to mind – so he would have to bide his time for a chance. But at 73, his prospects look bleak.
