Incredible claims emerged from England this week that allege a bust-up between Derby County’s manager, Nigel Pearson, and owner, Mel Morris, spun out of control because of a drone ‘spying’ on training.

Morris is reported to have used drones to watch Pearson’s sessions, which enraged the gaffer, who was suspended by the club last week for his subsequent behaviour – and All Whites coach Anthony Hudson was then linked as a potential replacement.

Derby said they were ‘perplexed’ by the ‘bizarre’ drone claims. Their season’s yet to lift off with the Rams 20th in the Championship table and any buzz for promotion to the Premier League looks off the mark. and they won’t leave them alone.’’

It hasn’t stopped Aaron Smith becoming the world’s best halfback, has it? having three,’’ Carter said. Australian surfer Mick Fanning punched a shark in the nose to fight it off as it tried to grab him during an event in South Africa last year. Now crocodiles are getting in on the surfing action. The World Surf League event in Costa Rica was cancelled yesterday when Brazilian Tales Rodrigues, spotted a crocodile lurking in the shallow where competitors were coming ashore. ‘‘I ended my wave and was paddling back strongly when I saw the turbulence in the water,’’ Rodrigues said. ‘‘It was about the size of my surfboard. I have no words to describe what I’m feeling right now, it was truly terrifying.’’ The crocodile scampered ashore after life guard patrols on jetskis zoomed in to investigate. backfired spectacularly.

X-rays revealed that Jones fractured his leg in the exercise with Itoje, and he’ll now miss the end-of-season international tests after his first call-up to the training squad last week.
