Argus dead
Rugby: Walter ‘Wally’ Argus, who was the oldest living All Black, has passed away aged 95 in Christchurch after spending the last year battling illness. Born in Auckland in 1921, Argus moved to Albury at a young age and first represented Canterbury in 1941 before going on to serve in World War II. The winger returned to New Zealand to win his first All Blacks cap against the Wallabies in Dunedin in 1946 and went on to play four internationals and 17 tour matches over a two-year period.
