When Lasike met Fitzy and Richie

Wiese winner No French

-

New Zealand’s NFL star Paul Lasike, who’s contracted to the Chicago Bears, has been hanging out with All Blacks legends in Chicago before the Ireland test.

Lasike, an Auckland boy, was proudly donning his Blues jersey in between Sean Fitzpatrick and Richie McCaw.

Having represented Auckland and the Blues with distinction, Fitzpatrick was delighted with Lasike’s attire.

McCaw, a Canterbury and Crusaders legend, wasn’t quite as impressed. Lasike said he was star-struck when meeting the pair on the banks of the Chicago river. Former German international goalkeeper Tim Wiese made a winning start as he embarks on a career in WWE.

It’s quite the switch for the 34-year-old, who’s won six Germany caps, but he’s already a smash hit after beating the team of the Shining Stars and Bo Dallas, alongside partners Cesaro and Sheamu, with his finishing move – the body splash.

Wiese, now known as ‘The Machine’, retired from football in 2014 and has since bulked up, with his first show held in Munich. Promoters kindly wrote the script in his favour, to whip up the locals. Dan Carter’s Racing 92 teammates are getting a little fed up with the All Blacks legend’s lack of French.

Carter and Conrad Smith appeared on a French rugby show on TV, with former France enforcer Sebastian Chabal.

But Carter’s still not conversing often enough in the native tongue, and Racing fullback Brice Dublin has had enough. Brice tweeted Carter (in French): ‘‘in French, please can you do it!’’ the result? No.

Genia won’t even play in this weekend’s international tests because his French club, Stade Francais, won’t release him to play against Wales.
