Markle arrives to meet the royals
LONDON For any new girlfriend, meeting the prospective in-laws can be a daunting experience. And some families are more daunting than others.
So, in the week that she was spotted in London for the first time since her relationship with Prince Harry was revealed, the question is being asked: is this the moment Meghan Markle meets the Windsors?
The American actress was photographed going into Kensington Palace on Friday, as the prince was attending a remembrance ceremony at Westminster Abbey with the Duke of Edinburgh.
Markle, 35, had been shopping in Kensington High Street. As she walked into the palace grounds she carried two bags from Whole Foods Market, the American organic grocery chain.
Her arrival had been heralded by a story in a New York gossip column saying that she had asked for time off from filming the TV legal drama Suits, telling the show’s producers that she had ‘‘something important’’ to do.
Given that she has now spent at least one night with the prince at his home in the palace, Nottingham Cottage, it is almost certain that she has met at least one other member of the royal family: Prince William.
There have been several reports that Markle, who is based in Toronto, has also met Prince Charles, although this has been denied by royal sources. The Times
