Nadolo frets over Guinness drought

Ban lifted

-

Fijian flyer Nemani Nadolo was concerned there would be no Guinness left in Ireland for him to try after the Irish beat the All Blacks 40-29 in Chicago.

The Crusaders winger is part of the Barbarians squad, who play Fiji in Belfast this weekend, and he doesn’t want the good stuff to dry up following Ireland’s maiden test victory over the All Blacks.

‘‘Flying to Ireland tomorrow looking forward to my first ever pint of Guinness. Just hope it doesn’t run out 2nite. Well done Ireland!!’’ said Nadolo, who left New Zealand to join French club Montpellier this year. GETTY IMAGES beating Bournemouth 2-1 but guess what? Rodwell wasn’t in the squad. Ireland’s Kiwi coach Joe Schmidt admitted an alcohol ban would probably be lifted on their flight home from Chicago, after beating the All Blacks for the first time in their history.

Schmidt would have had no chance trying to implement such a ban even if he tried, with Ireland’s thirsty heroes keen to kick back and celebrate their 40-29 victory.

‘‘There’s an alcohol ban which will probably be lifted as soon as the boys sit down. I’m probably not going to obey the alcohol myself!’’ joked Schmidt, who said Ireland captain Rory Best would be the ringleader in getting booze back on the menu. It’s always the hooker, isn’t it? Without hesitation, the players dived into crates of Jupiler – a Belgian beer that was soon shaken up and sprayed all over the turf.
