KAY’S LIONS

-

Back three: 6 – Stuart Hogg, Liam Williams, George North, Anthony Watson, Tommy Seymour, Elliot Daly. Hogg, North and Watson are my starters, with Williams as cover. Watson and Daly can play No 15, so no place for Leigh Halfpenny. Centres: 4 – Robbie Henshaw, Jonathan Joseph, Jonathan Davies, Garry Ringrose. I’ve included Owen Farrell as a fly half, but I’d start him at centre. Ben Te’o could go as an impact player. No 10s: 3 – Jonathan Sexton, Owen Farrell, Dan Biggar. The third No 10 spot is between Biggar and George Ford. Biggar goes for his defence and goalkicking. Halfbacks: 3 – Conor Murray, Rhys Webb, Ben Youngs. Murray will probably start the Tests, leaving Webb and Youngs to scrap for a bench place. Props: 6 – Loose-head: Mako Vunipola, Jack McGrath, Cian Healy. Tight-head: Tadhg Furlong, Dan Cole, Kyle Sinckler. Vunipola and Furlong are my first choices. Healy shades out Joe Marler. WP Nel would be in but for injury. Hookers: 3 – Jamie George, Rory Best, Richard Hibbard. Dylan Hartley can prove himself against George tomorrow (Sunday). Hibbard is back to his best for Gloucester. Locks: 6 – Maro Itoje, George Kruis, Alun Wyn Jones, Jonny Gray, Joe Launchbury, Iain Henderson. Courtney Lawes is unlucky here, but Henderson is in after his excellent performance against England. Back row: 8 – Sam Warburton (captain), CJ Stander, Billy Vunipola, Taulupe Faletau, Sean O’Brien, Peter O’Mahony, Justin Tipuric, Hamish Watson. I’d start with Warburton, Stander and Vunipola. Jamie Heaslip may travel for his leadership, or Watson if Gatland wants an extra No 7.
