A new course teaches health professionals how to prescribe cannabis, writes Craig Hoyle.
DOCTORS are to get schooled in medicinal cannabis.
Auckland high school teacher Tadhg Stopford has developed the programme – the first of its kind in New Zealand – to provide general practitioners with basic background knowledge of the drug’s medical potential.
‘‘Understanding within the profession is very low at this point in time, and there’s also a tremendous amount of unconscious bias,’’ he said.
