NEW Zealand have progressed from their pool with a game to spare in the rugby sevens tournament at the Commonwealth Games.
After thumping Zambia 54-0, New Zealand put away Kenya in their second encounter 40-7.
It means the final pool match against Canada late last night will be to secure top spot in pool C, and a favourable finals draw for today.
The Kiwi men made a predictably blistering start to their Commonwealth Games PHOTOSPORT tournament against sevens minnows Zambia.
‘‘It was a great game. They are very similar to playing Kenya. They’re a passionate team and they’re big boys. They definitely played for their country,’’ New Zealand’s Tim Mikkelson said.
