Spy base protest

A small group of protesters gathered outside Blenheim’s Waihopai spy base yesterday calling for its closure. Christchurch based Anti-Bases Campaign organiser Murray Horton said: ’’It’s an outpost of US intelligence. It compromises New Zealand independence, our sovereignty, and our anti-nuclear policy.’’
