Two early howlers, but superb take and stunning break for opening try, as class came to the fore. Shifted to right wing and made plenty of metres. 7.5/10
14 Waisake Naholo
Mixed night. Two tries – classy finish and powerful surge. Got sucked in for Wales’ first try and bombed one by not passing. But came out on the right side of the ledger. 8
13 Malakai Fekitoa
Involvement increased with some good charges and nice quick distribution. Didn’t have much traffic run his way. 6
12 Ryan Crotty
Quiet early, then a typically solid Crotty showing. Got hands on the ball later on, defended well, cleaned up well. 6.5
11 Julian Savea
Scored opening try with superb leaping take but missed three tackles, including one leading to the first Welsh try. Subbed after 42min. 5
10 Aaron Cruden
Best on the park. Stunning cross-bomb for Savea try, sent Naholo over too. Great vision. Brilliant jinking runs. Got back to save the day when grounding in-goal. A few struggles from the tee with 6/9. 8.5
9 Aaron Smith
Not his usual crisp self due to Wales’ efforts at breakdown. Crucial intercept on Wales breakout. Took quick tap for Naholo’s second try. Kicking game got better. 7
8 Kieran Read, c
Great captain’s knock. Made a teamhigh nine tackles (none missed), some fine aerial takes, heavy involvement at lineout, scored the match-winner. 8
7 Sam Cane
Quiet early, went on to make six tackles with no misses. Try-saving hit just prior to halftime. Some slick hands and passes. 6
6 Jerome Kaino
Showed the physical presence he can be with some powerful runs and work in tight. 6.5
5 Brodie Retallick
Chugged through in solid fashion. Got out in the open later on. Bad missed tackle on Liam Williams for Webb try. 5.5

Best All Black forward on show in the 53 minutes he was on. Excellent strong carries. Did have bad missed tackle leading to Webb’s try. 7.5

Quiet around park. Scrum down once on his side, also conceded a free-kick. 4

Solid in his core roles. Eight tackles without a miss. Knocked on when a try loomed. 6

Scrummed solidly. Missed a tackle on Welsh breakout. One nice charge. 5
