The family of Scott Guy have marked the sixth anniversary of his murder with a family dinner in new surroundings of their recently bought lifestyle block.

Parents Bryan and Jo Guy said they brought the family together to remember Scott, who was gunned down in the driveway of the family farm on 8 July 2010.

Much has changed for the family in the past year, Bryan and Jo sold the family farm at Feilding that Scott was supposed to inherit, and moved to a lifestyle block in nearby Colyton.

Bryan Guy said: ‘‘We had a lunch, just to remember Scott and recognise that it’s been six years since the day he died.’’

Scott’s younger brother Callum and elder sister Nikki came with thier families. But sister Anna was unable to attend, as she is about to give birth to her sixth child, and second with partner Brent Jameson.

Bryan said Anna was expecting the baby any day now.

‘‘They haven’t found out if it’s a boy or girl yet, as far as I know. Not that father’s get told everything.’’

Blogging about her pregnancy on her mother Jo’s website Make Lemonade, Anna said she had found it challenging being a mother to five young children while carrying a sixth.

‘‘I must admit, it can be a bit of a challenge when there are five other children to feed and amuse AND the holidays have just begun . . . not the best timing!

‘‘Even after having five babies I still can’t get over the feeling of my body being taken over being another human being. It’s insane and pretty cool at the same time.

‘‘And just when you think there’s absolutely no space left and you can’t possibly stretch any more… it does. The human body is an amazing thing.’’

Jo set up the blog as a way to deal with the grief of losing her son, and has also written a children’s book called Snooty Stanley.

Scott’s brother-in-law Ewen Macdonald was charged with his murder, but was acquitted. He was jailed for other offences, including smashing walls and fittings in the house Scott Guy and his wife Kylee were building, and killing 19 calves.

We’ve still got a bit to unpack but we’re enjoying being out in the country again, where it’s a bit quieter.’’

They sold their Feilding residence in April to move to a lifestyle block in Colyton, just east of the town, after they sold the family farm.

The farm had been in the family for more than 40 years before the Guys sold it just before Christmas.

He said they hadn’t seen Kylee Guy since the anniversary. Kylee gave birth to a son, a brother to her and Scott’s sons Hunter and Drover, last December.
