Third album from project of exquisite British vocalist and producer Dev Hynes. Freetown

Sound is a diverse and dynamic display of R&B, funk, pop and electronic, and proves Hynes as a modern musical spectacle. Across nearly an hour the Londoner could almost be the ghost of Michael Jackson but in a way that’s contemporary with smooth and catchy electronics. Best To

You, for instance, is a soft and sultry display of highly melodic songwriting. There’s something quite minimal about the production on this record which helps to emphasise some tender vocal chords. It would be an understatement to say Hynes is ‘‘one to watch’’ because it’s clear he’s already reached the point where he should be.
