Arrive Rested and Ready in San Francisco
Escape the mid-year grind on United’s exciting new direct flight from Auckland to San Francisco.
United Airlines recently launched its new threetimes weekly non-stop route between Auckland and San Francisco aboard the Boeing 787 Dreamliner, a proven favourite with travellers. This moves to a daily service on October 30.
United’s direct flights leave Auckland at 1.20pm, arriving in San Francisco at 6.40am the same day. This means you can arrive rested and ready for a day of exploring in one of America’s most intriguing cities, or connect onwards from United’s San Francisco hub to more than 90 destinations across the U.S., Mexico and the Caribbean. This includes 44 destinations that can be accessed with just a single stop, 40 of which are not currently served from New Zealand by a single carrier!
If you are continuing beyond San Francisco, grab a shower and a bite to eat in United’s arrivals lounge (if you’re lucky enough to be travelling United BusinessFirst) or at one of the many airside restaurants on offer. From here, it’s just a case of jumping on-board an easy internal flight to your final destination.
If you do choose to explore San Francisco, there’s so much on offer for foodies, art lovers, historians, adventurers and shopaholics. But, if like many Kiwis, you’re keen to spread your wings even further, United’s new flights are timed to connect easily to a host of
popular destinations like New Orleans, Nashville, Miami and Chicago – which just happens to be United’s home city and the location for the All Blacks v. Ireland test match in November.
If you are heading to the match, United offers a twoclass service, BusinessFirst and Economy including Economy Plus, which offers extra legroom, so there are fantastic options – no matter your budget. If you’re
planning further ahead, be sure to also look out for the all-new United Polaris business class from December 1, 2016, which promises to take international travel to a new level of relaxation, comfort and enjoyment.
And for those of you concerned about continuing to earn miles on your Air New Zealand frequent flyer programme, fear not. Both airlines (along with 26 other carriers) are part of the Star
Alliance, meaning that passengers have reciprocal recognition and privileges, including lounge access, air miles and status recognition.
