Lighter Lotus

Lotus has always been the masters of charging more for less and getting away with it and now they have done it again with the Evora 400 by releasing a selection of ‘‘new lightweight options’’, including a new Carbon Pack, lithium-ion battery and titanium sports exhaust. The Carbon Pack uses a number of components, including a front splitter, roof panel, rear wing centre, rear diffuser, front access panel and wing mirror caps. The Carbon Pack costs US$10,000 (NZ$13,700), the titanium sports exhaust US$8,000 (NZ$11,000) and the lithium-ion battery US$1,690 (NZ$2,300). And saves a grand total of 5kg. Yes, really.
