Police closures

I am not sure where the decision came from to close community constables’ offices 3-4 years ago. It was a massive mistake. I worked as a volunteer, and folk in the community had somewhere to go with their issues.

Now, who knows where to go to report a problem? This service is vital to our safety, but police stations are closed at weekends.

The decision-makers need to face the real world, we need police on the beat. Their presence is a deterrent. Jo Davidson, Auckland
