Sarah Crowe, House of Travel Q. My wife wants to book a holiday in the Pacific Islands, but the idea of sitting on the beach all week doesn’t appeal to me. Can you suggest somewhere both of us might like?

What might work well for you is a destination such as Tahiti.

I would recommend taking either a short flight or ferry straight out to Moorea. To suit your wife, Tahiti has plenty of stunning beaches to choose from, while you will have a plethora of choices for sightseeing.

You can go jet skiing, biking, do an island tour, swim with manta rays and sharks, go snorkelling, swim with dolphins, see turtles or go diving. There is kayaking, canoeing and fishing charters also.

I’d recommend the Magic Mountain tour where you take a four-wheel-drive up the steep mountain for a view that won’t be forgotten.

Not only does Tahiti offer more than a beach, the other benefit of this destination is its gorgeous French cuisine and friendly people. Have a wonderful time!
