Bit of Bond in Lotus Evora
While the James Bond film character is forever associated with Aston Martin, it can’t be denied that at least one Lotus in particular is remembered and loved by Bond fans and car fans worldwide.
That Lotus is, of course, the famous white submersible Espirit S1 from the film The Spy Who Loved Me.
To celebrate that film’s 40th anniversary, Lotus has built a special one-off version of the Evora Sport 410 featuring a colour scheme inspired by Bond’s Espirit.
Jean-Marc Gales, CEO of Group Lotus, says: ‘‘So many of us recall the impact of the Lotus Esprit when it hit the big screen in The Spy Who Loved Me, and we wanted to honour that with a special Evora Sport 410.
‘‘It’s the perfect tribute to such an influential Lotus, but a world away in terms of its abilities’’.
The special Evora is the work of in-house personalisation department Lotus Exclusive.
It features many unique design touches, including a colour-keyed front bumper, a one-piece carbonfibre tailgate that’s part-white to give the illusion of a traditional liftback and a bespoke badge script on the B-pillar that is in the style of the original Esprit’s logo.
Nods to the Esprit S1 from The Spy Who Loved Me continue inside, with the insert panels of the sports seats and doors trimmed in heritage Tartan.
