Bebel Gilberto

The daughter of Brazilian music icons Joao Gilberto and Miucha, Bebel made her musical debut at the age of 7. She grew up between Brazil, Mexico, and New York, and received her musical education from family and friends, including uncle Chico Buarque, and family friends Milton Nacimento, Tom Jobim, Caetano Veloso, and Joao Donato. Inspired by everyone from Debussy to Prince, Michel Legrand to Billie Holliday, Bjork to Gershwin, her music has been described as ‘‘electronic bossa nova’’, and has earned multiple Grammy nominations.
