Dead against it

Residents of the Christchurch suburb of Fendalton staged a placard-waving protest yesterday after a funeral home was approved. The Christchurch City Council twice denied an application by funeral directors Bell, Lamb & Trotter’s, but an independent commissioner has approved it. Opponents say their main issue is with heavier traffic in a congested neighbourhood, close to Christchurch Boys High School.
