Stupid humans

-

There are valid arguments on both sides of the euthanasia debate. Therefore, I just read the arguments and counter-arguments and move on. But Julia du Fresne (Letters, June 17) made an assertion that needs to be challenged She says ‘‘unlike animals, we have a soul, a conscience’’.

Really? If she is referring to feelings, pain, communication and communal living, does she not know that all these traits are amply exhibited by all the animals? Just because we do not understand their ‘‘vocabulary’’, does not mean that

they say nothing.

If we assume that we have a soul and a conscience and animals do not, it should not be hard to find our soul, our conscience, in the 2 per cent genome that is different to a chimp’s.

Humans are no different to other animal life form, humans are just more stupid and conceited.
