Murder accused appear

Three men have pleaded not guilty to the murder of Mongrel Mob member and aspiring rapper Kevin Ratana. The 27-year-old was gunned down outside his Whanganui home on August 21. Two further shots were fired into the house where four adults and two children were taking cover, police said. Name suppression has lapsed for six Black Power members charged with murder. Name suppression continues for a seventh man. The defendants will reappear in September.
