Looks to try from London Fashion Week Spring 2017

-

London Fashion Week always pushes the boundaries on the beauty front, and Spring 2017 was no exception.

The runways were a riot of makeup colour and textured hair, with everything from flower power facial appliques at Preen to crimpmy-ride hair at Topshop Unique and slick skin at Gareth Pugh.

Here are three beauty looks from the catwalk we’d love to try, either full-throttle or just by borrowing some of the elements.

1. Texture: Stylist Duffy took textured hair to new extremes at Topshop Unique using a compact curling iron and bucket loads of mousse to create a modern take on the ‘‘crimp’’. He pulled it all together with a severely deep side part. The finishing touch: my favourite new ‘‘red eye special’’. Create this look with ease using a red-based blush and generous eyeshadow brush.

2. The plait: This style was literally everywhere. At Bora Aksu it featured as one of the key hair looks of the shows in a tightly coiled snaking bun, clamped firmly to the back of the head.
