A division one side might have reached the Duff Rosebowl football final last year, but it won’t be the case after the latest round of matches.

The remaining two minnows, New Plymouth Rangers Oddbodz and Eltham, were both on the wrong end of a-lot-to-nothing results in their second round match ups.

Oddbodz travelled across town to meet a freescoring Moturoa premier side. The team who were on top of the premier league showed no mercy to their lower-division opponents as the sealed a 10-0 win.

Hayden Murray led the way with a hat-trick, while Morgan Hall and Zayed Rabbaney claimed a brace each, and Dyl Coutts and Tyler Buckland also found their way onto the scoresheet.

Down in Eltham, FC Western’s premiers were also in fine form, dispatching of the division one side with a 5-0 win.

Connor Oliver-Rose was back in goal-scoring form as he bagged himself a hat-trick, while Scott Casey-Wooldridge and Ben Furze also found the back of the net.

In the other fixtures, Woodleigh edged past Peringa in a quality encounter while Rangers’ premier side toppled Inglewood 4-1.

Woodleigh’s match against Peringa was always expected to be a close one, with the sides sitting in a similar position in the premier standings.

However, it was the visitors and last year’s runners-up who did enough to secure a 4-3 win to move into the semifinals.

Q In women’s football, the only Duchess Cup match of the week featured Moturoa and Inglewood, with Moturoa proving to be too much and claiming a 2-0 win. Bonnie Parker and Jasmine Middlebrook scored the two goals.

In the women’s premier league, Hawera and New Plymouth Rangers played out a 2-2 draw, while four goals from Amy Reumers and a hattrick from Rebecca Busteed launched Waitara to a 10-1 win over Peringa.
