- GRANT HASSALL

A powerful Taranaki men’s bowls side will take on North Harbour at the indoor stadium in Pukekohe on August 5-6.

The senior seven includes four of the Revital Fertilisers Taranaki squad that made the semifinals of the national intercentre event in March, with Craig Johns, John Garrud, Mark Anderson and Dean Elgar all making the trip north.

They will be seeking some revenge on North Harbour, as it was that province that eliminated Taranaki in the semifinals.

The other three members of the Taranaki senior side are Scott Roberts, Adam Collins and Gerry O’Sullivan. Darren Goodin, John Roberts, Jordan Linn and Dave Wilson were not available for selection.

A fixture for the Taranaki women, also against North Harbour in Pukekohe, has been arranged for September 2-3.
