PR agency emerging alongside its clients
Brooke Lean and Gina Fabish are readying themselves for a roaring 1900s ‘party’ to showcase their modern retail space.
The Virtue, on Devon St West, is a like a living catalogue - everything for sale is meticulously placed around the room - and the back portion of the upstairs premises offers a studio where the pair of photographers can continue their creative endeavours.
Lean and Fabish launched the shop in March and to garner attention to the place, they are hosting a Neon & Negronis event midSeptember.
‘‘We have so many hats wear,’’ Fabish said.
‘‘We’re learning how to delegate. There’s got to be things we can let go of and let someone else seriously look at.’’
And that’s where their equally new public relations agency comes in.
Renown PR, launched just three months ago, is a small public relations brand representing small businesses. And, most of its new clients are just as young as it is.
Owners Sophie Braggins and Rebecca Johnson said there is a benefit in growing with clients.
‘‘We’re an emerging brand ourselves so we connect with what they’re going through,’’ Johnson said. to
‘‘We’re constantly learning and we can share our learnings and our experiences,’’ Braggins added.
The women know each other through the Taranaki Chamber of Commerce, where Johnson is the membership development manager and Braggins sits as the chair.
An initial six-month retainer for $2000 allows the pair to ‘‘immerse themselves’’ in the brand while talking to the target market and teaching the client what is needed to strengthen their presence.
‘‘It’s only been three months but so far it’s working really well,’’ Braggins said.
‘‘Sure we put more time in than it’s worth but as a young business, that’s what you do.’’
‘‘It’s such enjoyable work and it’s something we are really passionate about,’’ she said.
