I will answer
It is that simple. A humble, earnest and sincere call to God will be answered. He said: ‘‘Call unto me and I will answer you’’, and God cannot lie. If you wait until you are well down the dark tunnel of despair and hopelessness it will much harder to make that call; if you are under psychological or medical care you may well be under the influence of a drug that will hinder your ability to call and hear.
I am fully aware of the grief and guilt loved ones feel, even at an attempted suicide, I work as a first responder and as a facilitator for rural support, and it is heartbreaking to see people in situations that could be avoided if they knew the truth about God and His love for them and His plan for them to ‘‘…live life to the full’’.
Brian (TDN letters, September 19) is right when he says that the demons that cause suicide show no respect for anyone but they don’t have to control you. You do not have to listen to their lies. You, with God’s help, can defeat them.
Our mental health teams do their best to help victims recover; suicide prevention is about stopping them and their families becoming victims. An early call to God is the best way I know to do that. I challenge any one to make that ‘humble, earnest and sincere call to God’’ and tell me that He is not there, that He did not answer.
