Work it Get shorty

- Sinead Corcoran

Of course you could just throw on a pair of stilettos and instantly have longer-looking pins, but what about the days you can’t be bothered with the admin of heels?

We get it, sometimes you just want a comfy flat you can kick off under your desk - without making your whole outfit look schlumpy because you’ve got normal person legs, not supermodel ones.

We’ve rounded up six leg-lengthening items for your work wardrobe, to streamline and skinnify your stems.

The most important purchase

Cropped pants. That little bit of ankle skin peeking out tricks people into thinking that your limbs are just sooo long they don’t fit into normal human clothes. For extra leg-lengthening, pair your croppies with…

Sexy pointed flat shoes

Preferably ones that are sort of low cut, to show more of your foot. The more skin on show (in an elegant way of course) the longer your legs will look.

On the days when your cropped pants are in the wash

Wear high-waisted trousers. The higher the trouser, the longer the leg-look. Simple.

When it’s summer and you want to get your legs out

Try an (office-appropriate) A-line mini skirt, and avoid maxis at all cost. They will drown you.

Rethink stripes

We all love a Breton top with its horizontal stripes - it’s the easiest way to look like a chic French person. The aim of the game here though is to look like a long lean machine - so vertical stripes are the answer.

Be boot-smart

Forget Pretty Woman-esque, sassy over-the-knee boots you want a practical, block-heeled pair to show off your delicate twig-like ankles.
