Prepare for a wet night at the Bowl

Headed to see Canadian singersong­writer Bryan Adams in New Plymouth today?

Here’s some helpful informatio­n such as where to park or pick up your tickets.

Schedule

The TSB Bowl of Brooklands will open its gates at 4pm; the venue shuts at 10pm.

The Jordan Luck Band opens the evening at 5pm and plays for one hour. Jordan Luck is the former lead singer for the New Zealand rock band The Exponents.

Tickets

Early bird tickets have sold out but gold seating, silver seating and general admission tickets are still available.

Venue ticket pickup is available today from 9am at the TSB Showplace on Devon St West or at the main ticket Box Office on Brooklands Park Dr from 3pm.

If allocated seating has not been purchased, low height foldable sand chairs and picnic mats are allowed inside the venue.

The event is for all ages with children aged three and under admitted for free, but prams are not allowed in the venue.

Parking

The venue car park is located on Pukekura Raceway nearest Saddle Row off Coronation Ave. Entry is off an unsealed access by the Saddle & Sulky Motor Lodge.

Mobility parks are available but limited and must have been previously booked through the venue. The operations supervisor can be reached on 06 759 6060.

Entrance to the venue can be accessed on foot through any of the Pukekura Park entries: Liardet St, Rogan St by the TSB Stadium, Fillis St and Victoria Rd.

There are no bus options to get to and from the event venue and there is limited parking available on Brooklands Rd. Taxis and passenger drop off and pick up is at the bottom of Brooklands Park Dr.

Weather

The concert will be a wet night with weather forecasted to drop 1.3 millimetre­s to 2.6mm of rain an hour during concert hours, Niwa said.

MetService expects heavier rain with estimates of up to 20.6mm total rainfall between 4pm and 10pm.

Average easterly wind speeds are expected to reach 20 kilometres an hour by 4pm and pick up speed to 28kmh by 10pm. But temperatur­es are forecasted to be a high of 23C with lows of 18C expected overnight.

The event will proceed ‘‘rain, hail or shine’’ and will only be abandoned if the promoter, venue management (New Plymouth District Council) and emergency services representa­tives deem conditions to be dangerous.

NPDC will announce any changes to the programme on its website and through its Twitter (@NPDCouncil) and Facebook page. Please note umbrellas are not allowed into the venue, so bring a raincoat.

Food and drink

BYO alcohol and commercial food is not allowed into the venue. However homemade picnics with homemade food and sealed water bottles can be brought in.

Food and beverage outlets will be available with a range of hot and cold food, snacks, alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages on offer.

For those who have prepurchas­ed gourmet hampers, bring your hamper ticket and ID for collection at the Racecourse collection point at the bottom of the Bowl near the toilets.

The venue recommends bringing cash as there are no cash out facilities on site.
