Jones has England team running hot

England rugby coach Eddie Jones continues to push innovations with his players set to wear hot pants in this weekend’s Six Nations clash with Scotland.

They’re not the super-short fashion items off the catwalk, but rather heat-generating long trousers that the England substitutes will wear on the reserves bench to combat the chilly Murrayfield Stadium in Edinburgh.

They cost $600 a pair and their creators claim they are designed to act like a Formula One tyre, heating deep into the core of the leg muscles.

The Daily Mail reported the trousers can generate up to 38 degrees Celsius of heat, a temperature scientists believe is ideal to boost muscle performance.

An earlier version was used by the British cycling team during their London Olympics campaign in 2012.

Jones is leaving no stone unturned in his quest to hunt down the All Blacks as the world’s No 1 team with an eye on next year’s World Cup in Japan.

He has had his forwards doing scrum training against Wales and Georgia, he has introduced drones to track the running lines of his players and has picked the brains of world-class football coaches as well as getting Great Britain’s gold medal winning hockey coach Danny Kerry involved.

Early wins over Italy and Wales have England primed for a third successive Six Nations title under Jones.

England are set to play the All Blacks at Twickenham at the end of the year, a muchanticipated clash that will be the biggest test match of 2018.
