LUXURY LIVING BY THE FORESHORE

-

The Reef is architecturally designed, north-facing, on four levels, comprising of two penthouses and eight apartments, each boasting space, amenities and enviable views.

Perched three levels up, nestled behind hush glass and smack bang in front of New Plymouth’s foreshore, The Reef’s apartment six is a beckoning inner-city retreat. If apartment living is new to you, this has got to be the spot to buy!

Across the street is the walkway, the wind wand and a playground offering green space to run around with the grandchildren. Kawaroa Park and the pools are an easy walk or bike ride away. Or take the children to the nearby Puke Ariki Museum and Library, Len Lye Centre or Govett Brewster art gallery. Opt for the Centre City shopping mall on a rainy day.

Speaking of shopping, The Reef shares the same block as the Richmond Centre. “You have a pharmacy, a dentist, doctors, gym, butcher, green grocer and liquor outlet,” says Mike.

The spacious 170sqm, three-bedroom lock-up-andleave residence has offered early retirement respite for Mike. He’s enjoyed spending his first years beyond work watching the waves crash over the rocks, and people zip by on their way to and from work.

On a good day, Mike reckons the sea views stretch from the Todd Energy Aquatic Centre to the seaside town of Mokau, an hour’s drive away. The private deck on the seaward side certainly offers enough space for a barbecue and outdoor dining. The mesmerizing views are also enjoyed from the large dining and lounge areas.

The kitchen is a generous size, and has two dedicated spaces for full-size fridges meaning entertaining is a breeze. There is ample room in the cupboards, drawers and pantry, with an electric hob and oven along one wall and a 2 drawer dishwasher under the stone top island bench. There is an adjacent large storage cupboard for office supplies and bits and bobs, but for Mike though, it also makes for an excellent cellar. Convenient storage space continues with separate hot water and linen cupboards and a hideaway laundry.

Security is paramount with separate keys and swipe cards to the front entrance foyer, lift and apartment front door. There’s also a nifty video phone so you can see who has come to visit before you permit them building entry.

The master bedroom comfortably fits a Californian king and an armchair, with a walk-through wardrobe and ensuite. The two spare bedrooms are fit for a queen. The main bathroom’s generous size makes it comfy to get ready in style for dinner and a show at the nearby TSB Showplace.
