Tourist dies in crash

A tourist was killed in a crash in Christchurch after their car was shunted into the path of a oncoming truck. Emergency services were called to the corner of Main South Rd and Foremans Rd, Islington, about 10am yesterday. Superintendent Lane Todd said the investigation was ongoing but it appeared the male tourist driver was waiting at an intersection to turn when a van crashed into it from behind. The car was then ‘‘propelled’’ into the path of the truck.
