Toulon back Savea

-

Toulon rugby say they never doubted the integrity of Julian Savea following his weekend car accident. The former All Blacks wing flipped his car while driving after Toulon beat Perpignan in a French Top 14 match last Sunday (NZT). Savea’s wife Fatima brought the accident to the world’s attention by tweeting details of it and her relief he had not been injured. She also emphasised that Savea was simply tired and hadn’t had any alcohol, saying he had been sober for eight months. Toulon tweeted yesterday to back up those claims, confirming that Savea’s blood alcohol test following the accident was negative. ‘‘The club has never doubted the integrity of its player and is happy to know he is unscathed,’’ Toulon tweeted.
