Fisherman stranded in the dark

A fisherman was rescued on Wednesday night after getting stranded behind Paritutu Rock in New Plymouth. The man called police himself around 11.30pm and the search and rescue team were sent out. New Plymouth sergeant Phil Quinn said they were able to find a passage for the fisherman to get through and he returned safely to land.
