The semifinalists in the Revital Fertiliser Premier one-day competition were found at the weekend.

New Plymouth Marist United (NPMU) proved too strong for Francis Douglas Memorial College (FDMC) and will take the No 1 seed into the semifinals.

FDMC were bowled out for 93 with the chief destroyer being Kurt Leuthart, who picked up 4-32 off his 10 overs, while Mattie Allen scored 21 for FDMC.

NPMU picked off the winning runs for the loss of five wickets with Kurt Leuthart and Robson Chapman scoring 23 apiece.

New Plymouth Old Boys (NPOB) finished second as they ran through a struggling Ha¯ wera side.

The new ball pairing of Ross Bryans and Kyle Pillay knocked the top of the Ha¯ wera innings, Bryans picking up three wickets and Pillay two. The other five went to Jarrod Ritson who finished with 5-16 as Ha¯ wera were dismissed for a paltry 58.

NPOB needed just 8.3 overs to score the required runs, Josh Borrell doing most of the damage with 37 not out off 30 balls.

Inglewood did enough to secure third spot after they defeated Stratford.

Stratford batted first on a difficult wicket and struggled to score runs.

Skipper Kayne Dunlop was the only batsman to make double figures and finished on 29 with his side bowled out for 69.

Inglewood stalwart Jason Dombroski proved particularly difficult to get away, finishing with figures of 4-11 off 9.5 overs.

Inglewood were struggling at 47-4 before Dombroski made 21 off just nine deliveries to seal the victory.

In the final match it was winner take all as both teams were vying for the fourth and final position in the semifinals. Woodleigh had a number of players on rep duty so an upset was on the cards for New Plymouth Boys’ High School (NPBHS) and they took full advantage of it.

Batting first the school side put Woodleigh to the sword, scoring 256-8, with Jordan Gard (84), Reece Trumper (65), Oli Burbidge (44) the main contributors.

In reply, Woodleigh openers Josh Roguski and William Langslow got them off to a flier, having 80 on the board off just 13 overs. Roguski was the first to go for 28.

Langslow was joined by Archie Marsh and they took the score through to 127 before Langslow departed for 72 off 60 balls. At 127-2 off 21 overs the contest was evenly poised, however Woodleigh lost their final eight wickets for 71 runs to be dismissed for 198. Jack Parker (3-32 off 10 overs) was the pick of the bowlers while Chris Logan also picked up three wickets.

The semifinals are scheduled for this Sunday and will see NPMU host NPBHS at Lynmouth Park and NPOB welcome Inglewood to Western Park.
