Fleetwood Mac announce NZ tour

-

Legendary rockers Fleetwood Mac are returning to New Zealand for a three-date tour.

The band will perform at Auckland’s Spark Arena on September 16 and 19, and Dunedin’s Forsyth Barr Stadium on September 21.

The tour will include Kiwi musician Neil Finn, who joined the band in 2018 after longtime guitarist Lindsay Buckingham left the group.

At the time, Finn shared the news on Twitter saying, ‘‘Snow warnings for parts of the country, the mystery of Stonehenge solved and yes I’ve joined Fleetwood Mac.’’

A delighted Dunedin Venues chief executive Terry Davies says it is ‘‘fantastic news that Fleetwood Mac will be back under the roof’’.

‘‘Their 2015 show was so popular and sold out in less than an hour. We know there were a lot of fans disappointed that they missed out and now they’ll have the opportunity to see this incredible band perform. Their

2015 concert was brilliant so we know fans are in for a ‘not to be missed’ night.’’

Speaking to Variety magazine in April 2018, Mick Fleetwood said ‘‘the chemistry [between Finn, Mike Campbell and the band] really worked, and let the band realise that this is the right combination to go forward with in Fleetwood Mac style. ‘‘We know we have something new, yet it’s got the unmistakable Mac sound,’’ he added.
