Customs officer accused of illegally selling guns

Los Angeles prosecutors say a US Customs and Border Protection officer has been arrested on charges of illegally selling guns. Wei Xu was due in federal court last night for allegedly selling at least 70 guns over the past five years without a license. Xu is a watch commander at the Los Angeles and Long Beach ports. A defence lawyer did not immediately respond to an email seeking comment. Prosecutors say Xu used his position as a law enforcement officer to purchase and re-sell guns not available to the general public.
