Car, cyclist collide

A cyclist was taken to Ha¯wera Hospital by ambulance after a crash with a car in Ha¯wera yesterday. Police and St John Ambulance were called to the intersection of High St and Collins St just before 8am. Constable Toria Adamson said the man was taken to hospital to be assessed. The extent of his injuries was unknown at this stage. ‘‘He was very sore and he has some memory loss,’’ she said. Police investigations were continuing and it was not known if any charges would be laid. The man was assisted by bystanders. The accident was caught on video by a business security camera.
