Undersea drones close in on Shackleton’s ship

Scientists have smashed through Antarctic ice to reach the last known position of the wreck of Sir Ernest Shackleton’s lost ship in the Weddell Sea. Endurance was abandoned by Shackleton and his team in 1915 when it became stranded in thick ice and crushed, sinking to the ocean floor 3000 metres below. The Weddell Sea Expedition team will now send out submersibles to search for the missing vessel.
