An extrovert’s guide to surviving lockdown

- Mikaela Wilkes

People are struggling with quarantine right across the social spectrum, but the extroverts may have to work a little harder to energise themselves with activities that feel like their old routines.

It feels like everyone has become a Marie Kondo convert, baking whizz or cross stitcher in the past week. My flatmate for example, has taken to life in lockdown like a domestic goddess. Over the weekend she fashioned a headboard out of ripped up sheets and an old tiki torch that she found when clearing out underneath the house, after having organised and itemised every craft material she owns.

‘‘I am an extrovert for sure. I share my life online, have a career in the arts, am hardly ever home because I love being busy with projects, work and a social life,’’ she said.

Powell-Jones hasn’t been able to work since the lockdown came into effect, and has made a conscious effort to keep herself busy.
