Taupo is still experienci­ng burglaries and vehicles being taken. This week also saw the armed robbery of a Richmond Heights’ pub and police are asking residents to be extra vigilant reporting suspicious activity. Incidents reported include:

House entered and PS4 taken.

– House has been entered and television taken.

– Vehicle taken from carport. Vehicle located by police a short time later.

– On the 17/9/16 at 1400 hours the victim last saw the laundry door was locked and the keys were in the lock on the inside of the house. On 18/9/16 at 1430 hours the victim has discovered that the cat door located in the laundry door has been tampered with and moved in the glass and the keys that were in the laundry door are missing.

– A car was rummaged through but nothing appears to have been stolen. The car was unlocked at the time and police encourage all members of the community to lock their vehicles and property when not occupied – even if the vehicle is sitting in the driveway.

– A house was entered with keys being stolen and the car taken. The vehicle is still missing and police are seeking the assistance of the community. If anyone sees the vehicle Registrati­on BPR500, a Purple 2003 Ford Falcon Saloon, please call 111 immediatel­y so we can respond.

- Between the reported times the victims vehicle has been stolen. The vehicle was parked at the rear of the house. The vehicle was left locked and secured. There is nothing left around where the vehicle was parked to suggest how entry was gained. The victim believes the spare keys may have been inside the vehicle. Vehicle has since been recovered by police.

– the informant has returned to the club rooms to clean the hall and discovered that two windows on the front doors have been smashed and another two have been shattered. A large stereo and some laser lights have been stolen.

Police also attended 15 family violence callouts last week. They are asking people to report any incidents they encounter.
