WORK TOGETHER
In response to Virginia Church’s recent comments about Go Tongariro not understanding the word consultation.
Go Tongariro’s expressed desire in seeking the funding to commission a feasibility study is to explore all options to improve the economic growth of the Turangi area.
This study will identify what Turangi’s strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats are and provide an action plan to move Turangi forward.
This study needs to be warts & all with a 360 o approach that encompasses the whole of Turangi to have the desired benefit.
At this point in time Go Tongariro is still focusing on the terms of reference that will allow a steering group to be formed of which the prime prerequisite will be communication through engagement with all key sector stakeholders and operators within the Turangi area.
This will be our opportunity to engage with each other, as no matter what section of the community we may come from, we all have a vital role to play in defining our town’s future.
All of our voices are equal, none louder, none softer and they all deserve to be heard. This feasibility study, which has been championed by Go Tongariro and unanimously supported by your community board, will provide that much needed public platform.
We can’t always agree but it’s a given that we all have the same goal and that is to make our town the best possible place it can be. It’s just at times, we simply forget that we may all have chosen different ways in which to reach that goal.
There are plenty of challenges ahead, let’s not have ‘Unity’ be one of them. We shouldn’t look back, we need to communicate openly and once we understand our pathway clearly, let’s move forward together and make our community truly shine.
It is certainly Go Tongariro’s stated purpose through-out this project to communicate fully and often. Public consultation meetings will be part of the MP’s Paula Bennett and Louisa Wall have a message. process once guidelines have been established.

SUPPORT THE ALUMNI FUND
We are incredibly proud to be supporting the Taupo-nui-a-Tia College alumni fund, and challenge anyone with a connection with the school to step up and do the same.
We’ve put in $500 each, and hope other past students, friends, family, and businesses will put in whatever they can to help reach the initial target of $100,000. You can do so by contacting the school or visiting its webpage. Hon Paula Bennett MP Louisa Wall MP
