A Taupo Times article about Taupo-nui-a-Tia College’s new head students published on Tuesday February 13 mixed up the names of the two students named head boy and deputy head boy.

Bradley Martin is the Tauponui-a-Tia College head boy for 2017, while Connor Harrison is the deputy head boy. The

apologises for the mistake.

DRIVEWAY DEATH

A man who was struck and killed by a car reversing out of a Taupo driveway on Saturday morning has been named.

He was David Paramena Mitchell, a 53-year-old Taupo resident.

‘‘This is another tragic loss of life from a driveway incident,’’ Senior Sergeant Fane Troy said in a statement.

‘‘It is a timely reminder to take care in and around driveways, and it shows that young children are not the only ones vulnerable to these types of incidents.

‘‘Police therefore encourage drivers to ensure that driveways are clear of all people when moving vehicles.’’

The Serious Crash Unit is investigat­ing.

IRONMAN SEEDINGS

Cameron Brown will look to further several his world records after gaining number one seeding for the Kellogg’s NutriGrain IRONMAN in Taupo¯ next month. He is chasing his 13th victory. A win will extend his global record formost wins of the same IRONMAN event.
